Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Describe current assessment and management techniques for bulbar dysfunction in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).
- Describe sensitive clinical screening tools for swallowing dysfunction in neurologic patient populations
- Understand limitations of the clinical swallowing evaluation and describe the utility of an instrumental swallowing examination
- Describe experimental management techniques currently being investigated at U.F to prolong breathing, airway protection and swallowing function in neurodegenerative patient populations
